About traditions

Let's give
a
big hand to
all
those brave politicians
who
sweated it out
on
the parliamentary benches
during
our recent involvement in
the iraq war
spare a thought please for
our
political heroes in Canberra
for
winter here can be hell
and
it's no picnic either
finding
something real to say
day in
and day out
but
it's a gallant tradition
these party members follow
one stretching all the way back to
Gallipoli
and
while the plush green leather benches in parliament
house
may have changed since
alas
I fear
the bums on them
remain
much the same.
