Eyewitnesses to 21st century socialism

Eyewitness reports on the revolution rapidly unfolding in Venezuela were presented to public meetings around Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Hobart last week. The report-backs, organised by the socialist youth organisation Resistance, featured activists just returned from the first Australia-Venezuela Solidarity Brigade, which took place in July and August. Meeting participants heard inspiring firsthand accounts of the worker-controlled factories, free education and health care, and evolving participatory democracy of the "21st century socialism" that is being created in Venezuela.
