UNITED STATES: Majority oppose Iraq war
In a February 9-12 USA Today/CNN/Gallup Poll, 56% of US residents surveyed described themselves as opponents of the Iraq war, compared to only 40% who said they were supporters. Fifty-five per cent believe the US invasion of Iraq was a mistake. In the previous Gallup poll, taken on January 20-22, for the first time a majority of those surveyed (51%) said the Bush administration had "deliberately misled the American public about whether Iraq has weapons of mass destruction". In the latest Gallup poll, just 31% said the US was winning the Iraq war, the lowest reading ever. CNN reported that the poll also found that 68% of those surveyed said the Democrats "had no clear plan for the country", while 67% said the Republicans lacked one. Fifty-nine percent said they were angry about the direction the country was heading in.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
