Women students meet
MELBOURNE — The annual Network of Women Students Australia conference was held at Melbourne University on July 10-14. The national conference brought together more than 60 women students for a week of discussion around the theme "Pushing boundaries". Discussion focused on feminism, gender, sexuality, mental illness, domestic violence and sexism in the media, as well as the impact of "voluntary student unionism" on women's departments.
A silent protest was also held to emphasise the links between violence against women and VSU — one in three women will be affected by domestic violence and VSU restricts students' ability to collectively organise against such oppression.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
