PERTH — A Rainbow Festival will be held next month in Cambray, just outside of Nannup 300 km south-west of Perth. Cambray is renowned for its spectacular bushland and natural springs.

The theme is "Healing Ourselves, Healing the Earth". Bryce Hobbs, from the Rainbow Tribe, the organising force behind the festival, explained, "We live in a society that is dysfunctional in so many ways. The festival is about learning new ways, sharing new ideas, about new systems of support."

Workshops are to be held in green economic thought, deep ecology, community development projects and gender issues. The festival will also promote the International Year of Indigenous Peoples.

A gathering of all the Local Energy Transfer System groups in the south-west area will take place, and they will demonstrate their methods of non-monetary exchange.

A children's village will allow parents to participate fully and provide fun and environmental education for children.

Tickets ($15/$10 concession) can be bought in advance from the Perth and Fremantle Environment Centres, from and DADAS and 78s Records.
