Illawarra TAFE workers impose fee-collection ban
BY CHRIS PICKERING
WOLLONGONG Beginning on July 3, members of the Public Service Association and the TAFE Teachers Association employed at the Upper Illawara Institute of TAFE began implementing an indefinite ban on the collection and processing of moneys, in any form, in relation to enrolment or re-enrolment of students.
The ban is being implemented as part of a campaign to protest against the NSW Labor government's plans to restructure TAFE and the rest of the state education department, which will result in around 1000 jobs being lost, and the government's decision to massively increase fees to TAFE students next year.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
