ACI workers confront management
BY STEPHEN GARVEY
MELBOURNE — ACI workers and their supporters protested outside ACI headquarters on July 7 to demand that management end their lockout of workers at the ACI Mould Manufacturing plant in Box Hill. The workers, who were stood down in mid-May then locked-out since June 16, have been without pay for more than six weeks.
While the July 7 protest did not bring an end to the lockout, support for the ACI workers is growing. On July 15, Australian Manufacturing Workers Union organiser Tony Mavromatis addressed a crowd of 150 attending a screening of a documentary about the impact of corporate restructuring upon workers in the US. More than $360 was collected for the workers following the screening.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
