Fortunately, for the jaded

international telescope rifle

hunter, there are large and

increasing numbers of outcast

children living a carefree life

in the broad expanses of

Western Sydney.
Suitably strobed, or "spotted",

these fleet-footed wild things

will make outstanding shooting

as the Spring and Summer weather

flushes them out of their railway

culverts, concrete pipes, tennis

sheds, school amenities blocks,

and onto the flat, almost level,

Pampas-size paddocks of

Western Sydney.
Councils advise that tussock

and long grass will be cut,

quilt-fashion, to increase the

temporary camouflage of the fleet-

footed fugitives, and the excitement

of dropping them between

the grass brakes.
Councils advise that any costs

incurred in disposing of the relict

children, or "shatterees", will be

covered by the sliding per diem

scale paid for them by the all-

recycled, State-run dog pound.
The NSW Tourist Commission is
