Western suburbs refugee group launched

MELBOURNE � Fifty
people crammed into Hendersons Cafe to launch the West Welcomes Refugees
postcard campaign on September 21. The postcards, designed by Viv Mehes
and featuring students from Footscray City College, allow Western suburbs
residents to send personal messages to detainees at the local Maribyrnong
detention centre. Postcards can be obtained from the Refugee Action Collective-West
by emailing <refugeeactionwest@froggy.com.au>
or phoning (03) 9687 0789 or 0438 191 768.
