Resistance in action
Anti-war plans underway
ADELAIDE — Resistance called a public meeting on September 15 to plan anti-war and racism campaigns. The meeting decided to organise a set of publicity stalls in Rundle Mall and to campaign outside high schools to rally students' opposition to racism and war.
Anti-war speak-out
SYDNEY — Springing into action against US President George Bush's war plans, Resistance held a speak out on September 20 outside Town Hall.
"War will only lead to more innocent lives being taken", said UNSW Resistance organiser Bea Brear, pointing out that the overwhelming majority of those who approached the speakout opposed war as a form of retaliation and did not support any Australian involvement.
Activist elected
NEWCASTLE — Resistance activist Peter Robson has been declared elected unopposed to the position of education officer in the University of Newcastle Students Association.
Understandably happy about the September 21 announcement, Robson described it as "a fantastic result for those students who have been involved in the global justice movement".

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
