Sandon Point: The fight continues
WOLLONGONG — Six-hundred residents, unionists and environmentalists voted at a September 29 protest to keep the pressure on to preserve the Sandon Point wetlands. The rally was called by the Northern Illawarra Residents Action Group in response the Land and Environment Court decision to allow stages 2-6 of an upmarket housing development to be built on the site.
Pictured is "Dootch" Kennedy, spokesperson for the Kuradji people's Tent Embassy, who told the rally that the future of the indigenous heritage in the area will require determined community action.
