Fools of the world, unite!

Each year, we here at Life of Riley Enterprises like to let our hair
down and sponsor a Festival of Fools.

Fools' fests go back for yonks. It was traditionally the one day of
the year when down and out, run of the mill medieval personages of humble
origins turned on their masters. There'd be a mock crowning and a false
bishop. Asses were led into the churches to be prayed to. Clowns performed
mock travesties of the social order. An effigy, representing authority
and the status quo, was tried by a fools' court, convicted and burnt at
the stake.

Those were the days, when the common folk knew how to organise their
own fun!

So we've bought it back! The Festival of Fools is back on the social
calendar. Why miss out just because you were born in the wrong century?
You too can fool around like the days of yore in this millennium.

Enter into the spirit of the day on Sunday, April 1. That's right: April
Fools Day! This year, don't mock or play tricks on your best mates. Be
constructive with your spare time. Go after the big fish.

In 2001, quintessential foolishness is to be creatively generated on
April 1. Go forth, my buffoon buddies, and fool!

In localities where major festival events are not being planned, be
foolhardy enough to organise them yourselves. The latest edition of The
Fools Festival DIY Reference Manual and Sticker Book will be published
soon so make sure you reserve your copy. Life of Riley Enterprises is offering

This year's festivities will be generated in the lead up to the May
1 (M1) blockades around the country. Fools' fests will only be granted
a franchise if they subscribe to the Fools Fest motto: “It takes a wise
fool to change the world”. So if you think you qualify — get cracking!
