Movie: Libera, My Love (1973) — Libera joins the Italian partisans in 1943. She risks her life to get food and weapons to the freedom fighters hiding in the mountains, and is eventually captured in an ambush by the fascists. SBS, Tuesday, May 18, 9.30pm.

The Betrayal — During World War II, Ron Jeffrey, a young New Zealand soldier, risked his life for the Polish underground, even impersonating Gestapo officers. Jeffrey went to London with valuable information about the Nazis, but this was rejected by the British. He was returned to New Zealand to peel potatoes and clean toilets in a labour camp. Movie: Au Revoir, Mon Amour (1991) — The tragic love story of a Chinese singer and an underground revolutionary during the Japanese occupation of China. From Hong Kong. SBS, Friday, May 21, 1am.
