Campaign against arms fair
By Emma Webb
ADELAIDE — Resistance and the Anti-Adtech Alliance held a joint campaigning stall and information display in Rundle Mall on November 7.
The stall was to build the rally against the Adtech Arms Fair, held here on November 8-10. In about four hours, hundreds of people stopped to take information about the arms fair. The local Murdoch-dominated press has remained silent on the fair.
Ignoring the recent council ruling that allows all non-profit and community groups to distribute information in the mall, council inspectors harassed the campaigners for having a mock bomb and erecting information boards. The inspectors claimed the boards and props were a "safety issue".
However, the 20 activists refused to leave. Activists painted banners for the rally, which also drew a lot of attention from passers-by.
On November 8, Resistance and Anti-Adtech Alliance activists marched to the anti-Adtech rally at the War Memorial.
Resistance and anti-uranium activists will continue to reclaim the mall for political activity, because it is one of the best spots to reach interested people and build campaigns.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
