Sexist student magazine

The final edition of Gravity, the magazine put out by the Griffith University Student Representative Council, has outraged many students by including a lift-out centerfold featuring a naked woman with the words "Gravity Reveals All".

There was also a one page article on G-strings, complete with two rear-view photographs of women wearing G-strings.

The article attempted to vilify "lefto-feminist" types who allegedly oppose women wearing G-strings. Women were urged to wear G-strings to ease the boredom of uni life, particularly for male students. "Many a man, average and handsome alike will appreciate you diverting his attention from the boredom of uni."

This reinforcing of sexist stereotypes has been interpreted as a parting shot by the outgoing SRC, controlled by a Labor right faction, at the incoming left-wing SRC team. The outgoing education officer denounced the incoming SRC in his officer report by saying they were "trots" who "always seem to F**K up the SRC every time they are elected".

It seems the current SRC decided to push the boundaries of sexism as far as possible before handing over the editorship.
