Perth to celebrate 300 issues of GLW

PERTH — Plans are under way to welcome the 300th issue of Green Left Weekly with an all day fiesta on November 29, including a banquet and live music.

Mark Abberton, an organiser of the fiesta, said it would bring together well-known activists and people new to politics. "We hope that a range of Green Left subscribers and readers help us celebrate this important milestone. We are also sending invitations to a range of organisations like student guilds, trade unions, religious and human rights groups."

The day will also serve as a farewell for several activists associated with Green Left Weekly in Perth, who will be moving interstate: Anthony Benbow, Arun Pradhan, Anne O'Callaghan, Jorge Jorquera and several others.

The fiesta will go from 2pm until late at 21 Cliveden Street, North Perth. Entry is $12/$10 concession. For details contact Mark on 9227 7367.
