Paul Hill speaks for Tim Anderson
By Steve Painter
SYDNEY — Paul Hill, wrongfully imprisoned in Britain for 15 years, is visiting Australia on behalf of the campaign to free Tim Anderson (CEFTA).
In 1974, Hill was the first person arrested under Britain's Prevention of Terrorism Act. He and three other young Irish people were charged over hotel bombings in Guildford and Woolwich. They became known as the Guildford Four.
In 1989, the four were released after an inquiry showed that they had been wrongly convicted. So far, four police have been charged in an unfinished inquiry into the wrongful convictions.
Theirs was one of several cases in which the British legal system wrongfully imposed long sentences on Irish people.
Hill's schedule includes addressing a public meeting on April 23 at Glebe Town Hall on the case of Tim Anderson, imprisoned in 1990 on extremely dubious evidence over the 1978 bombing of the Hilton Hotel in Sydney.
Paul Hill will also visit Melbourne.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
