Jesus in Russia: An American Holy War — Attracted by the collapse of "communism", missionaries are flocking to Russia from all over the world. They are coming in droves to reclaim and convert millions in what has become a virtual supermarket of lost souls. Jesus in Russia follows the crusades of several colourful evangelists as they preach, pray and heal their way across a troubled land. Alfred McCrosky, a former insurance seller, travels through the countryside while former junkie Rick Amata spreads the gospel on the streets of Moscow. Not to be outdone, Siberian "Jesus" Sergei Torop, a former Russian police officer, wanders the former Soviet Union with long hair and robes, proclaiming himself the son of God and the second coming. Torop is planning to convert the US after basing himself in Hollywood. SBS, Tuesday, March 25, 8.30pm.
