Anti-racism movement formed in Adelaide
ADELAIDE — On April 9, an inaugural general meeting established the Celebrating Diversity Coalition (CDC) to replace the Anti-Racism Alliance. Attending were more than 30 anti-racism activists and delegates from a broad cross-section of ethnic, Aboriginal and community groups, student bodies, religious and political organisations and trade unions.
A general meeting for election of officers and an official launch will be held in July. An interim committee and a number of subcommittees have been formed to organise rallies, media and publicity, and education campaigns.
CDC was formed late last year and organised one of the biggest anti-racism rallies here in recent years.
An immediate challenge for the coalition will be to combat the neo-Nazi National Action (NA), which has opened a shop front in the Salisbury area. NA has been spreading anti-Asian propaganda and attempting to recruit supporters from disaffected and unemployed youth.
To support the Asian community and raise multicultural awareness, the CDC is organising a family day and food fair to celebrate cultural difference. CDC is also supporting a Rock Against Racism concert at Parafield Gardens High School.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
