Enjoying Life in Chernobyl — To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. Danish film maker Gyda Uldall reports on a situation in which those in charge of the clean-up operations have no realistic program or plan. (See review in last week's Green Left Weekly.) The Campaign — Santo Cilauro, one the creators of the incisive comedy Frontline, has made this two-part documentary about the 1996 federal election campaign. ABC TV, Sunday, April 28, 9.30pm (part two Sunday, May 5, 9.30pm).
The Silicone Breast Implant Scandal — A hard-hitting French documentary. Thousands of women around the world are suffering after receiving silicone gel breast implants. They are victims of painful auto-immune illnesses. According to government experts, the makers of breast implants and most plastic surgeons, these illnesses are not linked to silicone. But interviews with surgeons, doctors, patients and social workers reveal detailed scientific, medical and legal evidence otherwise. SBS, Tuesday, April 30, 8.30pm.
