ADELAIDE — "Unless we in Australia end the traffic in war, the blood will be on our hands", Uniting Church minister Reverend Lee Levitt-Olsen told a 300-strong rally here on November 23. Reverend Levitt-Olsen said weapons were being turned against the Third World following the end of the Cold War.
The protest was organised by Stop Arms For Export, Resistance and the Environmental Youth Alliance on the steps of Parliament House to draw attention to the increasing militarisation of South Australian industry.
Other speakers included Andy Alcock of the Campaign for an Independent East Timor, EYA representative Emma Webb, Resistance's Anne Pavy and Andrew Watson from SAFE.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
