At peace with the world
She says she's at peace with the world
— with everything in its place,
everything as it should be.
What if she gets kicked around.
That's the normal state of things.
Besides, she can do the same to others
— and that's normal too. In this way, she knows she's important.
More important than them.
To her mind, that makes up for everything.
But she deludes herself.
In fact, without admitting it,
she's not at peace with her life
but unable to see why.
And kicking people around even harder
is the only way out she can see.

"Australia has the most restrictive media in the western world. Censorship by omission denies Australians their democratic right to make sense of whole stratas of political and foreign policy. That's why Green Left Weekly is a beacon, doing a job of honourable journalism, as an agent of people, not power."
