Left On-line
Panos (http://www.oneworld.org/panos/) — The web site of this London-based group provides a wealth of information about sustainable development and the environment. Panos defines its role as to produce information and strengthen the information capacities of others. The aim is to enable development that is sustainable economically, socially, politically and ecologically. Panos also believes for this to occur there must be political freedom and a diversity of views in the media and greater equity within societies. Among the recent reports available on-line are: "Gold Mining — Weighing up the Costs"; "Last Warning on Climate Change"; "Biodiversity: A Matter of Extinction"; "The Internet: Superhighway or Dirt Track for the South?"; and "Fish: A Net Loss for the Poor".
The struggle of the Kurdish people — The fight for self-determination of the Kurdish people, supported by the Turkish left, has received greater prominence in recent weeks as a result of the hunger strike by political prisoners in Turkey's jails. Now you don't have to rely on the snippets that make the establishment press. There are several sites that make sure the latest news of the struggle is reported as soon as it happens. Visit http://www.xs4all.nl/~ozgurluk for regular news and information about the class war in Turkey and Kurdistan. The Kurdish Information Network (http://www.xs4all.nl/~tank/kurdish/htdocs/) offers a comprehensive survey of Kurdish culture, history, news and a directory of the various Kurdish liberation and left parties. Kurd-l at http://burn.ucsd.edu/~archive/kurd-l provides news and background information about the national liberation struggle in Kurdistan.
CIABase (http://www.webcom.com/%7Epinknoiz/covert/ciabase.html) — This site, produced with the assistance of CIA renegade Ralph McGhee, promotes a computer data base on the Central Intelligence Agency that provides a vital, easy-to-use, historical resource for activists, journalists and students. CIAbase scans the internet extracting relevant information, summarises information from on-line intelligence-related publications and abstracts information from 850+ sources. While getting full access costs, there is a simplified version for free use that can be searched for names and word combinations.
Marxjour (http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/3061) — Marxjour's goal is the promotion of links between the journals, reviews and other periodical publications working in the Marxist tradition. It contains indexes and digests of many publications and also has useful links to the home pages of left-wing and academic journals throughout the world.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
