Hear Me Cry — A documentary about Ryszard Siwiec. In 1968, Siwiec immolated himself in front a stadium full of people in protest at the invasion of Poland by Warsaw Pact forces. SBS, Thursday, September 7, 1.30pm.

Isle of Wight Festival, 1970 — A classic pop festival doco that takes us back 25 years to an exciting time of youth rebellion, antiwar activity, cultural radicalism and psychedelic rock. More than 500,000 people from around the world gathered to hear Jimi Hendrix, the Doors, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Leonard Cohen, the Who and many others. ABC TV, Thursday, September 7, 8.30pm.

Opportunities for new Australian bands to be seen on national TV — Disculture, the organisation that helps bands distribute their self-financed recordings, has been appointed adviser to a new music program soon to be broadcast nationally on channel 10.
