SYDNEY — An exhibition of photographs from war-torn Belfast by freelance photographer Frankie Quinn is on display at the Bondi Pavilion June 26-July 7 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Frankie Quinn grew up in a community ravaged by violence. From the age of 14 he started documenting the people around him and the environment that shapes them.
A man walking with his shopping past a burning bus; a frightened soldier patrolling hostile streets; kids playing on wasteland; the death of a man hit by a plastic bullet; a woman posing for a photograph while being evacuated during a bomb scare; a mother washing her child in the sink.
These are just a few of the images that give a rare glimpse of ordinary people living through extraordinary times. The exhibition has toured Europe and America. It will be going to Melbourne after the Sydney showing.

By now we all know that the rich get richer under capitalism. But many are astounded at the incredible pace this takes place.
"Without Green Left Weekly, freedom of press and public truth-telling in Australia would be gravely ill."
