Sex, Drugs, Blood and Death: Blood — In May 1983, blood banks around Australia called on gays to stop donating blood for fear of HIV contamination of the blood supply. This episode of the watershed radio series on HIV/AIDS investigates why blood banks were ready to begin HIV screening tests but were forced to delay them for four months by their national management.
