FORUM: From the freedom Bus Rides to the Koori Centre - The struggle for Aboriginal rights at Sydney University
Sydney University is trying to dismantle the Koori Centre. In 1965, Sydney University was where the 'Freedom Rides' began - where students and members of the community drew attention to the appalling second class status of Aboriginal people and state of health, education and housing. Come to this forum and discuss how we can save the Koori Centre and what we can do today for Aboriginal rights! Speakers: Narelle Daniels, Indigenous Officer Student Representative Council Sydney University; Ray Jackson President Indigenous Social Justice Association; Graham Jones & Jepke Goudsmith (Kinetic Energy Theatre Company) will perform 'Freedom Rides'.
Holme Building Common Room. Organised by the Resistance Club at Sydney Uni.

"Australia has the most restrictive media in the western world. Censorship by omission denies Australians their democratic right to make sense of whole stratas of political and foreign policy. That's why Green Left Weekly is a beacon, doing a job of honourable journalism, as an agent of people, not power."
