The 2nd Vere Gordon Childe Annual Lecture (An official History Week event) Australia in the Early 20th Century: The Burdens of Race, Place and Empire (Henry Reynolds) Well known for his books on the history of Settler- Aboriginal Relations, Professor Reynolds will focus here on the issues raised in his recent work with Marilyn Lake entitled 'Drawing the Global Colour Line' which won the 2009 Prime Minister's prize for non-fiction. Saturday, September 11, 4pm Blackheath Primary School hall.

Blue Mountains Trek for Timor

Blue Mountains National Park * What? 50km and 15 km sponsored treks Bushwalkers from around Australia will converge on the Blue Mountains in September to raise funds for projects in the remote mountainous area of Hato Builico in East Timor. Choosing from a challenging 50 km trek or a slightly more gentle 15 km walk, teams of trekkers will seek sponsorship from friends, families and business colleagues.
