700 issues: International messages to GLW
“In 2006, as an invitee of your newspaper, I was able to travel to various cities in Australia as part of a tour of conferences and meetings in solidarity with Venezuela, and your militant stance in solidarity with the Bolivarian revolution was always present. “With intelligent and current reports from a journalism committed to the construction of a free Venezuela within the framework of participatory democracy and popular power, you have been able to inform Australian readers about events that the large media transnationals silence or distort. “We recall with gratitude the presence of your comrades, Coral Wynter and Jim McIllroy, who in the midst of diverse difficulties proper to any revolutionary process, lived with us last year. Through them, Green Left Weekly was present on a daily basis in the context of a political process that the Venezuelan people can only win with international solidarity, which is alive and well in Australia. “Your daily work is the result of conscious and revolutionary internationalism which is our weapon against imperialist aggressions, lead by the current US government.”
