Anyone with an interest in radical activism should come along whether theyre involved in queer liberation, the campaign against Work Choices, building solidarity with revolutionary Latin America, the anti-war movement or the environment movement. The conference will discuss revolutionary developments all over the world, with a particular focus on Venezuelan President Hugo Chavezs call to build socialism for the 21st Century.
Resistance aims to use the conference as an opportunity to help build a protest against US President George Bushs visit to Sydney on September 8.
The conference will include a public meeting with international guest speakers, including a representative from new Indonesian left party Papernas, on July 5, and a special plenary session on the environment, which will look at revolutionary solutions to climate change, nuclear power and the water crisis. A cultural evening will be held on July 6 at the Glasshouse Bar at the University of Technology, Sydney.
