Preceding the Sydney Film Festival is The Weird Mob. The quintessential Australian story of immigration; of living and becoming. It features films from around the world.

Following the success of The Weird Mob Film Festival 2005, the Federation of Italian Migrant Workers and their Families (FILEF) is proud to announce The Weird Mob 2: The Italian Invasion. This year The Weird Mob has evolved with a new international flavour but continues to embrace the Italian diaspora around the world.

Unique films and documentaries from countries such as Argentina, Brazil, the United States, Canada and Germany have been selected giving an insight into the lives of Italian immigrants throughout the world. Festival director Massimiliano Civili explains, “This film festival is the proof that in order to invade the world, the only weapons needed are a strong sense of community and a flexible and receptive culture.”
