Friday vigils for David Hicks

Colin Mitchell, Melbourne
19 January 2007

It’s been more than five years since the first hooded, shackled men were brought to the US prison at Guantanamo and although not a single prisoner has been tried or convicted of any crime, more than 400 still remain, including David Hicks.

The Australian government is under increasing pressure to bring Hicks home. Civil Rights Defence is holding
a vigil outside the department of foreign affairs offices in Melbourne, every Friday, until Hicks is brought home.

Please come along from noon-1pm to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Casselden Place, at the corner of Lonsdale and Spring streets, Melbourne.
