MELBOURNE Jack Thomas, a 31-year-old former taxi driver facing charges under the federal government's anti-terrorism laws, won a significant victory on March 15 when the prosecution's appeal against Thomas's bail was thrown out of court. Thomas will return to court on March 22-23 for his committal hearing.
On March 15, 120 people attended a public meeting organised by the Justice for Jack campaign. Defence lawyer Rob Stary told meting that without public vigilance Jack probably wouldn't be here he would probably be in Guantanamo Bay.
The meeting was followed by a fundraiser organised by local band Frankenbok on March 18. For future events look up <http://www.justice4jack.com>.
