On December 10, 30 activists gathered outside the army recruitment centre for an international human rights day “die-in”, in solidarity with the people suffering in Iraq.

The protest proceeded to the offices of Worley Corporation, Australia’s largest corporate profiteer from the war on Iraq, to present a briefcase of blood-covered money. Worley won an $800 million contract to rebuild infrastructure and assist with the privatisation of oil in Iraq.

The protest demanded the withdrawal of troops from Iraq, unconditional aid to the Iraqi people, and for Worley to cease operations in Iraq. Both offices were forced to close for the day.
