Doing the job for Wall Street

“The United States' record is not one of imperialism. It is one of doing the job, bringing peace, restoring order and getting a responsible government in place.” — US Secretary of State and UN slide shows Colin Powell, February 19.

Knows what his job requires

“[Wars] are dangerous things, people get killed.” — US war secretary Donald Rumsfeld, February 20.

Land of the free

“A man was charged with trespassing in a mall in Albany, USA, after he refused to take off a T-shirt saying "Peace on Earth" and "Give peace a chance". Mall security staff approached Stephen Downs, 61, and his 31-year-old son, Roger, on [March 3] after they were spotted wearing the T-shirts at Crossgates Mall. The two said they refused a request to remove the shirts or leave the mall. The guards returned with a police officer, who repeated the ultimatum and arrested Stephen Downs when he refused.” — British Guardian, March 5.

Amazing what can be fitted into a car boot these days

“It really would have taken a handful of inspectors to determine whether he was disarming — they could have showed up at a parking lot and he could have brought his weapons and destroyed them.” — George “The Crusader” Bush, March 6, on saddam Hussein's alleged massive arsenal of chemical and biological weapons.
