A broad spectrum of anti-globalisation activist groups and non-government
organisations meeting in Mexico City on November 15-16 decided to organise
protests in opposition to the World Trade Organisation's next ministerial
meeting in Cancun, Mexico, September 10-14, 2003.
The protest organisers have issued an international invitation to activist
groups opposed to neo-liberal globalisation to send delegations to participate
in the September 2003 protests. The organising collective stresses that
the WTO ministerial will represent ``a key crossroads which may determine
the future of the neo-liberal model, of globalisation itself, and of our
peoples”.
The organising collective will aim to devise a “social movement” strategy
to counter the WTO summit. The organisers also promise time and space for
broad and open discussion of topics, analyses, tactics and action plans.
Those interested in attending the Cancun 2003 protests should contact
the organising secretariat at <viacam@gbm.hn>,
