14-Up: Born in the USSR — In 1991, a group of seven year-old children from all over the former Soviet Union were interviewed. In 14-Up, they reveal how their lives have changed. SBS, Sunday, June 10, 8.30pm.

Assassinated: the Last Days of King and Kennedy — This two-part documentary to marks the 30th anniversary of the assassination of two political leaders in the 1960s, Martin Luther King Jr and Robert Kennedy. In the crucial year of 1968, King, who had been seen exclusively as a civil rights leader, began to challenge the United States' economic status quo and called for an end to the Vietnam War. Kennedy's political journey took him from the right-wing to liberal politics as he became increasingly concerned about civil rights, economic equality and an end to the war in Vietnam. On April 4, 1968, King was assassinated; exactly two months later, Kennedy met the same fate. SBS, Saturday, June 16, 7.30pm.

500 Nations: The Story of the Native Americans — This episode examines the effects of trade and expansion into the interior of North America, culminating with the American Revolution. SBS, Sunday, June 17, 7.30pm.

Michael Moore: The Awful Truth — African Americans find it almost impossible to find a cab that will pick them up. Moore decides to drive a cab in New York, but with a difference: he's only going to pick up African Americans. SBS, Tuesday, June 19, 8pm.

Saving Elian — On November 25, 1999, a five year-old Cuban boy was plucked from the waters off Florida and taken to Miami. Saving Elian examines the custody battle over Elian Gonzalez. It includes footage from Miami and Cuba, and interviews with participants and observers on both sides of the controversy. SBS, Tuesday, June 19, 8.30pm.
