Song: Blue-eyed Bonking Bill

22 April 1998

Blue-eyed Bonking Bill

Chorus:
I am the US President, I'm Blue-eyed Bonking Bill,
And if Saddam don't get you, be sure my missiles will.
Back in the 1970s, we needed a strong man
To fight a little war for us in far away Iran,
So we said to our good mate Saddam, “You are a friend indeed.
“Here's tanks and guns and chemicals, just tell us what you need.”
Chorus
To blood the Karkeh River turned and Saddam he earned our thanks,
We showered him with more weapons yet and deposits in Swiss banks,
His enemies he slaughtered, the Kurds with gas put down,
While in Washington he was the toast in the White House and the town.
Chorus
But Saddam became too greedy then and too big for his boots,
He tried to help himself to a greater share of US loot,
At once he was a monster and the worst the world has seen,
So to clip his wings and pull him back we started World War III.
Chorus
Of course our war against Iraq is for the people's good,
That's why we put a ban on trade in medicines and food.
A million we've murdered now but still that's not enough,
So it's time to show that damned Saddam we really can get tough.
Chorus
Geoff Francis and Peter Hicks
