Protest outside Mortdale One Nation meeting

SYDNEY -- On September 16, nearly 200 demonstrators met the 50 people attending the first One Nation party meeting in Mortdale in Sydney's inner south-west. One Nation director David Ettridge addressed the meeting while protesters outside chanted “Migrants are welcome, racists are not” and “Land Rights yes, racism no, Hanson and Howard have to go”.

A speak-out organised by Campaign Against Racism aimed its fire at Hanson's racist ideas, the Howard government's racist policies and the racist history of the ALP. The otherwise peaceful demonstration was marred by a heavy police presence and two arrests.
