International Voices: Wadhi Saadeh -- Saadeh, from Lebanon, reads a selection of his poems to the live accompaniment of traditional musical instruments: "I try to give life to those who have died in a terrible war in Lebanon, or those people who were forced to leave a country which is now only a memory, a people and a place which no longer exist for me. I try to give readers a glimpse of my former homeland ..." ABC Radio National, Thursday, August 29, 9.30pm.

Cephas and Wiggins in concert -- Guitarist John Cephas and harmonica player Phil Wiggins play the blues in "finger-pickin'" Piedmont style. Piedmont is south-east region from Richmond to Atlanta. This entertaining concert, recorded in Sydney earlier this year, takes us on a whistlestop tour of blues styles and traditions. ABC Radio National, Sunday, September 1, 4.05pm (repeated Saturday, September 7, 10.05pm).

Gaywaves -- Sydney's premier gay and lesbian radio program has had its timeslot extended by half an hour, beginning September 5. Gaywaves will now air from 8.30pm to 10pm every Thursday night on 2SER (107.3FM). The Gaywaves radio collective wishes to thank all those who supported their program during recent attempts cut their airtime.

Femmes, fame and feathers -- Drag queens, lesbians and gay and lesbian historians examine the history of homosexual venues, from the closely guarded beats of earlier times to the glamour of Oxford Street. ABC Radio National, Sunday, September 8, 2.05pm.
