Movie: I am Cuba (1964) -- This satirical drama takes us through the different stages leading up to the Cuban Revolution: the decadence and injustices of the Batista regime; Cuba the playground and brothel of the US; and the creating of political awareness in the rural communities. Algeria: Women at War -- The experiences of Algerian women veterans of the struggle for independence from France. SBS, Sunday, August 18, 10.30am.

In the Land of Oranges -- A journey across Israel via the orange groves, where Arabs and Jews, labourers and bosses, young and old, secular and religious speak about life in Israel. SBS, Sunday, August 18, 12.30pm.

Ordinary People -- The Anne Frank World Exhibition arrives in Johannesburg. Filmed attending the exhibition are a Holocaust survivor, Jewish high school student and Soweto student. SBS, Sunday, August 18, 11.20pm.

Jane Rule: Fiction and Other Truths -- A documentary about the prolific writer and activist for lesbian and gay rights. The film traces her formative years in the US, her move to Canada during the McCarthy witch-hunts, and her struggle against censorship and homophobia. SBS, Monday, August 19, 8.30pm.

Father, Son and Holy War -- The second part of this Indian documentary about the links between Hindu chauvinism and sexism in Indian society. SBS, Tuesday, August 20, 8.30pm.

A New World -- Looks at the devastating environmental effects on Vietnam of modern warfare. Ornithologist Dr Vo Quy leads attempts to re-green Vietnam. SBS, Wednesday, August 21, 7.30pm.
