Africa's Big Game -- "How do you fit 25,000 elephants into a country the size of Kenya?" is the question posed. The success of elephant preservation appears to have been at the expense of the local people, the Masai, who now want their share of the land and its rich wildlife revenues. Saltwater Soul -- This special featuring Christine Anu takes a journey to the Torres Strait to explore the music and culture that are the basis of this vibrant new pop artist's talents. ABC TV, Sunday, May 19, 8.30pm.

One Nation Under God -- A whirlwind history of the gay movement in the US, this riveting documentary focuses on the attempts by the religious right to "cure" homosexuality and employs extensive archival footage to contrast the prudery of the '50s and '60s with today's experts on "reparative" therapies. SBS, Monday, May 20, 10.55pm.
