War of Distance discusses the long-term social effects of the war, how it changed the position of women and the implications on the structure of the family. ABC, Sunday, May 15, 8.30pm.

Masterpiece: Voices of Rap -- Anti-establishment, raw, working class, are some of the terms associated with the birth of rap in 1976 New York. Bands and singers such as Soul II Soul, Ice Cube and Arrested Development define the meaning, roots and purpose of rap music. Interviews are laced with footage of people and events that have shaped rap, including Malcolm X and scenes from the Los Angeles riots. SBS, Monday, May 16, 8.30pm.

The Cutting Edge: the Bounty Hunter -- A controversial documentary on Tahir Mahmood. A private detective, Tahir tracks down and returns Asian women who are fleeing their circumstances, often leaving their arranged marriages. SBS, Tuesday, May 17, 8.30pm.

The Big Picture: Wild Boer -- “Blacks are Kaffirs and are the natural servants of white men.” This attitude is the uniting factor for Billie Minnie and his white squatter camp in northern Natal.
