Green Party candidates

24 February 1993

Green Party candidates Murray Matson (Kingsford Smith) and Mark Berriman (Sydney) sorted rubbish or “non-recovered material” at Eastgarden shopping centre on February 18 to call attention to the need for greater recycling. According to Matson, a national recycling program similar to the regional Canberra operation by Revolve Ltd. could create at least 3000 jobs and at the same time reduce wastage. Matson also said it was time to bring in deposit legislation which would provide even more incentive for recycling ventures. Photo courtesy of Broadside.
