SA crisis under musical microscope

Hello down there! is one of those rare pieces of theatre which speak about current issues relevant to a community, taking a look at what is going on and tying the threads together.

It is set between the early 1980s and 1992, during which time South Australia went through the speculative boom and the ensuing crash. A musical format and four different stories show the effects of such crises on ordinary people.

Brilliantly portrayed is the distance between ordinary people and the people who make the decisions that have an effect on their lives.

The production is magnificent, with a large cast and the backing of the Trade Union Choir. The set takes up the entire theatre space, with seating interspersed among the different sets, making for a great feeling of audience participation and closeness to the action.
